MO Bacter Organic Lawn Fertiliser
Friday, April 1, 2011 10:57 No CommentsMO Bacter Organic Lawn Fertiliser
- The secret of MO Bacter is a bacteria that digests dead moss, removing the need for raking, allied with a slow-release granular fertiliser which eradicates moss by secondary action, feeds grass and improves the condition of your soil.
- Moss dies from an excess of potassium, and is then digested by the bacteria in MO Bacter, thus avoiding the nasty black debris common to so many other moss killers.
- MO Bacter becomes active when soil temperature reaches 10C, so for best results we recommend you apply MO Bacter in March through to May, or alternatively in early autumn.
- Does not contain weedkiller, so much safer to use near borders than other moss treatments
- Can be used to clear moss from almost any garden surface, including patios, rockeries, drives – even roofs!
Featured in numerous national publications including The Telegraph, The Mirror and The Sun, winner of the Turf Professional Best New Product of the Year award, and endorsed by some of the most popular celebrity gardening experts in the country, the key to MO Bacter’s phenomenal success is simple: it is a 100% organic fertiliser that feeds the lawn, destroys your moss and leaves no black debris at all. One 20kg bag will treat a lawn area of up to 200m2, and is completely harmless to other plants

Fish Fertiliser and Seaweed Fertiliser: The Preferred Natural Organic Fertiliser of Many

Nowadays, it is very common for households to have their own organic garden that bear all natural fruits and vegetables. This is one way of saving a few bucks for some and for others, earning extra cash by selling their harvest. One of the most common ways of ensuring that your plants grow well is by putting natural organic fertiliser in the soil. A lot of home organic gardeners attest to the benefits of fish fertiliser as well as to the advantages of seaweed fertiliser, which they use in growing their plants.
The fish fertilisers that organic farmers and gardeners use are made from fresh fish and contain absolutely no artificial chemicals. These are perfect to use to guarantee the great condition of the soil when planting seeds of fruits and vegetables. As we all know, the quality of grown plants hugely depends on the condition of the soil on which they are planted and in turn, fertilisers help enrich the soil with nutrients essential to the growth of the seed. Years of research by experts led to the discovery of artificial chemicals that make soil more suitable for planting.
However, these discoveries are not preferred by organic farmers and gardeners since their main goal is to grow fruits and vegetables that are all natural. This is why they use either fish fertiliser or seaweed fertiliser and othernatural organic fertiliser to make the soil in their farms or gardens richer. These natural fertilisers are available in organic gardening stores. There are now commercialized organic fertilisers available in different amounts, depending on how big your garden area is. Choose a brand that has been proven to produce only high quality and certified organic fish fertilisers to be sure that you will get all the benefits expected from it.
When using branded fish fertilisers, always make it a point to follow the instructions carefully in order to get satisfactory results. Putting too much fertiliser in the soil may have a negative effect on the growing plants, even if it is all natural. In the same way, not putting enough fish fertiliser in the soil may result in plants that are way below the standard that you have set. So use your organic fertilisers in moderation to produce only high quality organic fruits and vegetables.
For those who sell their harvest, using fish and other organic fertilisers may prove to be very helpful in producing your products in huge quantities. This way you can expect more products to sell, which will definitely translate to more earnings for you. So don’t think twice about investing your money on organic fertilisers. It is the surest way to maintain the organic nature of the plants that you grow while still ensuring abundant harvest and big earnings.
Indeed you can count on the many benefits of natural organic fertiliser such as fish fertiliser and seaweed fertiliser when it comes to increasing your organic fruits and vegetables production. For sellers, you may post a sign on your store that says you are using only organic fertilisers, to assure your buyers that what they will purchase from you are guaranteed 100% organic.

Kitchen Garden vs. Organic Gardening
Posted: Jan 27, 2011 |Comments: 0

The importance of kitchen garden is great and manifold. A kitchen garden ensures an inexpensive, regular and handy supply of fresh vegetables which are basic to nutrition. The green vegetables contain vitamins and minerals which protect us against diseases. Lack of vegetables, particularly the green leafy vegetables, leads to malnutrition which causes diseases like anemia and night-blindness. Dark green leafy vegetables such as spinach and brown vegetables like carrots prevent blinding malnutrition. The herb garden is often a separate space in the garden, devoted to growing a specific group of plants known as a herb plant. A kitchen garden can be created by planting different herb plants in pots or containers, with the added benefit of mobility.
Consumption of fruits and vegetables with chemicals is always a health risk today as well as for the future. Those who have sufficient space around the kitchen and home can very well start organic gardening and grow vegetables for daily use. It is very simple and appealing as well.
First timers will always find it easier to grow food vegetables like carrots and tomatoes first before attempting others. In addition, useful advice from those who grow food vegetables should be seeked.
Organic gardening is concerned with Grow a Chemical-Free Vegetable Garden through the use of Organic Fertilizers, providing every table with chemical free nutritious, fun and healthy food. Complement must be given to organic gardening i.e., vegetable and herb gardening by instituting the same healthy organic and sustainable principles in the lawns and landscapes.
Organic gardening fertilizer not only feeds plants but also builds a healthy soil for them. Organic gardening fertilizer makes soil loose and airy which is essential to hold moisture and nutrients in the soil. Also, investing in a high quality lawn mower is because the high end lawn mowers don’t come cheap. Windmills can produce large volumes of water in windy areas and don’t necessarily blow in summer when water is most needed. Solar pump operates best in summer when water is most needed and do not operate at night as well as during the rains. The big advantage of a solar water pump over wind mills is that when water is most needed in summer days are longer with more sunshine.
The solar pump that supplies power to the pump via a control box which converts the direct current in to three phase alternating current is usually submersible and is powered by solar panels.

Fish Fertiliser and Seaweed Fertiliser: The All Natural Organic Fertiliser

If you have a huge backyard that is just perfect for a nice organic garden, why don’t you try organic veg and fruit growing? Nowadays, being practical can go a long way and can help you save enough money for your other important needs. Growing fruits and vegetables in your own backyard is one very practical way of obtaining food without having to spend so much money on grocery shopping. You just have to invest in a natural organic fertiliser – such as fish fertiliser and seaweed fertiliser - which is essential to the plants’ growth.
Other than being a practical source of food, having your own organic veg and fruits garden can also provide you with the opportunity to bond with your family, especially if your children are still young. Planting seeds of fruit-bearing plants can be a fun family activity that can accommodate every member of the family regardless of age. This can also be a great learning tool for the young ones as you can explain to them how plants grow while you’re actually digging the soil and planting seeds. They will surely be fascinated by the science behind growing fruits and veggies and how they end up on our dinner plates.
Maybe you are wondering about the cost of starting and maintaining an organic veg and fruits garden. Do not worry. Since what you’re planning to set up is an organic garden, you do not have to spend so much on expensive artificial fertilizers – buy types of natural organic fertiliser instead.Among the most common kinds of organic soil vitamins are fish fertiliser and seaweed fertiliser, which are proven effective in helping plants grow faster while keeping the all-organic characteristic of fruits and vegetables. You should also invest in durable tools that will make your work easier, like a strong shovel, a rake, a trowel and a watering can so you can have a smooth gardening experience.
You may choose to plant any kind of vegetable and fruit in your organic garden as long as there is enough space for them to grow. However, it is prudent to ask your kids what their favorite fruits and veggies are so that you will know which ones to plant first. Of course, feel free to plant fruits and veggies that you prefer; after all, it is your backyard.
The fun in organic veg and fruit growing is in the harvesting of the goods. You may opt to do this activity with your children and the rest of the family as well. Then you can cook and enjoy a sumptuous meal made from the organic veggies that you grew. If you have too much to harvest, you may share the excess with your other relatives or neighbors so that nothing will go to waste. In the long run, if you consistently harvest a large amount of fruits and vegetables from your organic garden, you can sell your produce and earn extra cash. Of course, this can be achieved faster if you religiously use an all natural organic fertiliser.

Soil Type & Nutrient Levels: Urban soils are often lacking in nutrients, especially where organic material such as leaves and grass clippings are removed and not able to decompose naturally and return nutrients to the soil. Usually you have top soil with a noticeable sub-soil not far underneath. pH Levels: If the soil is too acidic or too alkaline, plants won’t be able to access the nutrients – even if there are lots in the soil. Mulching keeps soil temperatures cooler.

Organic Gardening and Lawn Care
Posted: Dec 29, 2008 |Comments: 0
|
Most home owners take lot of pride in caring for their homes both inside and out, and try to make their home the best that it can be. Nice landscaping makes a person feel welcomed to the home.
Having the correct tools and lawn care products is essential to getting your garden and lawn looking its very best. Far too many people believe that the way to achieve this is through the use of pesticides and other chemicals to eliminate weeds and keep bugs under control. People do not realize that they can have a really beautiful lawn and garden using organic gardening methods, and they won’t be harming the environment in the process.
Fertilizers used on today’s lawns are full of chemicals the worst of these being nitrates and phosphates. Since it takes several pounds of fertilizer to treat one lawn, you are exposing your family and pets to a great deal of toxic products. Fertilizers are known to trigger asthma, are a known carcinogen, and cause neurological problems in young children and pets. Worse yet these chemicals get into the soil and into our drinking water supply.
So what can you do to make the switch to organic gardening? The first change you should make is to switch to using natural compost. Despite what people think, composting is not difficult. Simply purchasing a compost container where you dispose of food scraps, pet dropping, and your lawn and leaf litter is the first step. By its very nature, the amount of composting material generated, will be a lot less that the amount of material that you start out with. You want to save your materials all year long to make enough compost to serve your garden.
Having good soil will produce a much healthier and longer root system, which will in turn produce healthier plants and grass. Long roots require less water to keep it green. This will cut back on your water bill as well.
Many communities are under water restrictions, so having good soil and a good root system will allow you to have a lovely lawn and garden despite those water restrictions.
It is also important to know that watering should be done in the early morning hours to avoid loss of water to evaporation. Watering in the heat of the day will result in most of the water being evaporated before being used by the plants. Watering during the nighttime hours exposes your lawn to fungus.
Another way to preserve the water you use is by adding a layer of mulch over the top of the soil to reduce evaporation loss.
If you are the type that enjoys spending a lot of time on your lawn, use organic gardening methods. This will keep toxic chemicals from harming your family and pets.
The use of native plants is another good organic practice. To avoid disappointment, choose the proper plants and grass that grow in your area. Not all plants grow in all area, and may need extra water and care to survive.
There is a benefit to choosing native grass and giving at a good root system. Those lawns hold up much better to foot traffic and child’s play. You certainly wouldn’t want a lawn that everyone has to stay off in order for it to look nice.
Far too many individuals immediately reach for chemicals to kill off weeds. It is important to first find out what type of weed is growing to indentify the problem you are having. Overwatering may produce weeds that thrive in a wet environment. Simply cutting down on the amount of water you are using will eliminate the problem.
Some weeds can actually be beneficial to your lawn, and you may want to leave them alone. They can serve as a natural fertilizer for your yard. The rest of the weeds should be either pulled out by hand or to use tools to remove them. Just make sure you pull them from the roots up so they can’t re-grow as easily.
Many people just run weeds over with their lawnmowers. This is not a good idea as there are seeds in the weeds. Cutting them with the lawnmower will result in the weeds spreading all over the place. This will result in your having more weeds in more areas than when you began.
One final change you need to make before you go organic is to choose the proper lawn mower. A reel type mower puts no pollutants into the air and does not produce noise pollution. You also get the benefit of exercise using a reel lawn mower.
The next best choice is an electric mower. This type mower has improved over the years. They are now battery operated and do not require a long electric cord to operate. Last is the gas powered lawn mower. These are probably the most polluting device used by homeowners. One hour of using a lawn mower is equivalent to driving 1300 miles in an automobile. To truly go organic, ditch the gas lawn mower.

I’ll also reveal the most top-notch organic gardening method. Now, I say this method is “top-notch” because if you apply it to your organic vegetable garden, you’ll get some highly positive and highly terrific resultsâ¦
Listen, I’ll tell you about the method in just a bit. For now, let me give you the top 5 list of vegetables that are very easy to grow.
Note: Images and video introduction regarding this top-notch gardening method can be viewed by clicking on this link.
(1) Tomatoes
It’s not difficult to grow tomatoes. I sow the seeds in soil that’s fertile and very moist. In order to get constant supply of fresh organic tomatoes, I always make sure to sow the seeds about several weeks apart.
(2) Potatoes
Now, I love growing potatoes! What I like most about growing them is that they do not require a lot space. In fact, you can grow them in bins.
(3) Green Peas
Stalking is necessary if you want to grow them. After all, they grow on vines. You know, you can actually quicken the germination process, by soaking the seeds for about 2 hours so. After soaking, you can go ahead and sow them.
(4) Spinach
Popeye’s favorite food can be grown easily. You can start with a handful of seeds and to get constant supply, simply sow the seeds in regular sequence every month.
(5) Onion
Unlike tomatoes or spinach, onion seedlings have to be planted instead of sown. I used to dislike growing organic onions because weed management is such a pain.
But thanks to the top-notch gardening method which I’m about to share, my organic garden where I grow onions and various other vegetables does not need weed management at all!
Let me tell you, it’s so easy to grow vegetables using this method. It’s almost hassle-free!
Maybe you’ve heard of this top-notch organic gardening method. It’s called ecological gardening and it’s very simple to set up. The idea behind ecological gardening is to set up a vegetable garden that imitates natural habitat.
This way, you don’t have to worry about digging, managing weeds, crop rotation, tillage and more. Pests are also repelled naturally. Yes, you don’t have to use chemicals and pesticides on an ecological organic garden.
In addition to those benefits, ecological gardening actually produces more fresh organic fruits and vegetables compared to traditional gardening!
By the way, you can learn to set up an ecological garden within a few hours. It’s very easy to grow vegetables using the ecological gardening formula. Step-by-step videos on how to do it are available and very simple to follow along.
Just the follow this link if you’re interested in setting up an almost zero maintenance organic vegetable garden today: http://www.growingorganicfood.info

Tips for Success With Your Organic Gardening

The last decade has seen a huge upswing in the demand for organic fruits and vegetables and all organic food stores and most supermarkets stock them. Organic vegetable gardening is what people looking at these days as they have realized that the use of fertilizers and pesticides do more harm than good. But the main reasons people have to not become involved in organic gardening are the time and effort that is needed to both start and maintain an organic garden. The organic gardening market is big business and many of the products available aren’t always the most effective tools to producing a healthy herb garden. Fortunately, there are a lot of good sites dealing with organics and a lot of good gardening books out there. Organic gardening is the practice of growing vegetables, herbs and fruits. Organic gardening has become a popular method for ordinary people to grow their own vegetables, using only natural methods of fertilization and pest-control. Although organic gardens can take time to build and require a certain amount of dedication, as an organic garden is safer, cheaper and more satisfying! Organic gardening is no harder than traditional gardening methods once you have how the basics in place.
One of the first things you should consider are the benefits that organic gardening will provide you and your family. Organic gardening is an extra benefit because everything that you will be eating is pesticide and chemical free which is healthier for you and your family. By growing it yourself, you can save yourself thousands of dollars a year in food expenses. They will not only be completely fresh and healthy but will have had a zero environmental impact. However to grow an organic garden is not as difficult as it might seem. Your organic garden should be free from chemical pollutants, like factories, machine shops or other hazardous materials detrimental for your organic products. Since you’re not using chemical fertilizers, you need to amend the soil with the proper organic compounds to feed the soil and in turn feed your plants. It takes time to improve your soil organically and see the fruits of your labors. You should also do your research as to see what crops for your organic garden would be best for your area. Other things to consider are the type of soil that you currently have and also how much sunlight exposure the plants that you want to grow will need. Sure, you can create an organic gardening paradise in your home, but you need a lot of space, light, and a desire to make it work indoors that is usually worthwhile once it is set up and going.

How To Grow Organic And Tasty Food At Home – Simple And Useful Ways

Consuming organic and natural food has grow to be a popular diet in the food industry. The main reason is that not only organically grown vegetables and fruit taste better, but organic food also contains more vitamins and has less dangerous chemicals. Nevertheless, organic food is often more expensive than conventional food and that is why there’s a growing trend to make your very own organic garden.
If you want to make your personal organic food here are some helpful tips that will help:
Choose The Proper Plants
Choose crops that grow best where you live. Some plants will grow successfully in virtually any conditions, while others could require long growing seasons or a more temperate climate. Seed catalogs give you a list of the zones that are most favorable for that exact plant.
Find A Friend
One thing that may really assist you is to have a gardening friend and to share seeds, tools, buy low-cost bulk products which you can split (similar to potting mix) and share machinery rental fees. Be part of a local garden organization or check with your local council to see what services are available in your area.
Save Cash On Commercial Weed Mats
In the event you have problem with weeds in the garden beds, use old newspapers under mulch to smother them. They will finally break down and provide organic matter in your garden. That is better than spending money on commercial weed mats.
Try Containers
Whereas seeds grow in the soil, there isn’t any rule that the soil has to be in the ground. It is easy to grow vegetables and fruits in containers and this is something I personally recommend.
Lettuces First
Begin with planting lettuces in your garden since they grow easily and get used more often than most of the vegetables.
Worms Is Good
Having worms in the garden is great! The organic and natural matter that worms leave behind is better than what the worms eat. Worms digest the organic matter in the soil and leave behind worm castings. Worm castings are an awesome natural fertilizer for your organic garden. Worms in addition aerate the soil as they dig and move through it. This allows the roots to penetrate throughout your soil.
Do Composting
Garbage is without doubt one of the biggest problems today. For biodegradable issues, one of the simplest ways to process them is through composting. One easy way is to make a portion of the backyard as composting area. Throw vegetables and fruits peelings and food left-overs in the composting area and the worms will do the rest.
These tips and methods can be very useful for you if you want to grow organic food by yourself.
However in the event you really want to get the very best outcomes I will recommend getting a step by step manual that will teach you all the things that you must know to grow your very own organic and natural food at home.
I hope that these tips will be useful for you, all the best!

4 Steps to Organic Rose Garden- How Does Your Garden Grow
Posted: Oct 31, 2009 |Comments: 0

If you have ever wanted to grow roses, but though it was too difficult to grow roses, let me show you how to grow large colorful roses. Organic rose gardening is actually easy and the results are more than you would imagine. Roses have been grown throughout time and without the need for harsh chemicals so there is no reason chemicals would need to be used for today’s gardens. There are some basic steps you need to consider when selecting roses for your rose garden.
Step 1 – Know your Zone
Roses grow differently in different zones. When you buy your roses make sure you read the label to determine your hardiness zone. Roses that are listed as being grown on their “own-root” will always be harder than roses that are grafted. Conduct a little research on the internet to determine how roses will grow in your area. Places like California and Florida can grow roses with a very high hardiness rating.
Step 2 – Size of your Roses
Roses come in many different sizes from miniature roses to roses that will cover a wide area. Climbing roses can grow up to 12 inches or more. Make sure you have enough room for your roses to grow. Again, read the label of the roses you want to grow.
Step 3 – Color of your Roses
There are so many different colors of roses and if you want red and yellow roses make sure that is the type of roses you plant in your garden.
Step 4 – Stop to smell the roses
Some roses have an extremely fragrant smell and others barely smell at all. A rose fragrance is determined by time of day. You can smell the fragrance of a red rose better during the mid day and white and yellows roses are fleeting in the morning.
Like any other plant you will sometimes have to deal with a pest problem. Rose bushes are prone to being invaded by many different kinds of damaging insects like rose midge larva, rose cane borer, thrips, Japanese beetles, stem girders, aphids, rose slugs, mites, caterpillars, scale insects, and rose chafers. Nobody wants to have to deal with these pests but to sustain the life of the plant, it is necessary to correct the problem.
You have several options of how you are planning to deal with the pest problem after you have identified which type of bug you are dealing with. If you only see one or two bugs you can try picking them off the roses and killing them yourself. Make sure to remove the entire leaf you see them on because they could have laid eggs that are still hidden on the leaf. You always have the choice of using synthetic or natural chemicals to help you get rid of the pests.
Make sure to follow the directions on the package of how to use these types of chemicals. Even natural or organic chemicals can be harmful to people if they are used improperly. If you are adamant about not using any type of chemicals on your rose bushes, you can always try using the natural enemies of the pests. Not all bugs that you find in your garden are destructive to plants. Lady bugs and some types of wasps eat pests that can damage rose bushes. You can check your local garden center to see if this is an option for you with the type of pests that you have.
This was just a few steps to consider when deciding if you want to grow roses. You can learn more about organic rose garden and so much more at the site listed below.
