Select a watering can that has a detachable spray head – this type of watering can is perfect for watering young seedlings.

Finding A Lawn Care Equipment Center
Posted: Sep 22, 2007 |Comments: 0

A lawn care equipment centre is an ideal place to visit if you do not yet have the right tools to maintain a healthy lawn.
It is obvious that if you want to have a great and healthy looking lawn, that you will need the right tools for the job to help you to achieve it. If you do not have any equipment, you may want to visit a lawn care equipment center, where they will provide everything that you need to either improve or to maintain your lawn easily. You will be absolutely spoilt for choice at the selection available and you will be able to find everything that you need and more to really have an impressive looking lawn that will make your neighbors envious.
Finding What You Need
Whether you want a lawnmower or even an irrigation system, you will certainly have a great choice available to you. You can also ask someone at the lawn care equipment centre for advice on what equipment will be best suited to you.
If you are worried about spending a lot of money on the equipment, you will need to think about the investment. Also if you go for a cheaper option, you may have to replace it within a shorter time period than usual, so it may be better to spend a bit more and ensure the quality of the product so that it lasts longer. The better the quality of the product, the more of a benefit your lawn will receive and you will certainly be able to tell in the results.
Some pieces of great equipment that you may have never considered before include:-
Mulching Lawnmowers
Automatic Irrigation systems
Leaf vacuums and snow blowers
These pieces of equipment are easy to find in a lawn care equipment center and they can have some amazing benefits to your lawn as each piece of equipment is different. With a mulching lawnmower it is very easy to use and it is a great way to save time too as it helps to save you time from emptying grass clippings every two minutes.
An automatic irrigation system works by a clock, but if you were to leave it on an automatic setting then you may end up wasting more water than what you should. By using the clock, you can determine whether the grass needs to be watered or not and therefore you are only using the water when it is needed.
Finally, leaf vacuums and snow blowers are great for obviously getting rid of leafs and snow off the lawns, which can cause damage to the lawn or at least make it look untidy. With the use of blowers, they help to get rid of things that are on the grass and the same with the vacuums as well. So they are both great pieces of equipment to have if you are serious about taking care of your lawn.
As you can see there ire some great pieces of equipment out there to help you to maintain a healthy lawn and you can find it all at a lawn care equipment center.

When it comes to caring for your lawn, there is no better start than to use a good lawnmower to properly cut the grass. There will be a lawnmower to suit everyone’s needs and also everyone’s different types of grass.
If you have a smaller lawn then this will mean that you will be better off going for a smaller lawnmower and if you have a larger lawn then obviously you will want a stronger and more powerful lawnmower, to help you with the task ahead. Without a lawnmower you will find it extremely difficult to maintain good lawn care and this is why a lawnmower is an essential piece of lawn care equipment.
The good news for people searching for a lawnmower is the fact that there is a massive range available; whether you go into your local hardware or home improvement store, or whether you search on the internet for one.
Something else that is considered as an essential piece of lawn care equipment is an irrigation system. This helps to regularly distribute water evenly over your lawn. If you have one of these installed, you will not have to worry all of the time about watering your lawn as this works by using an automatic timer to spread the water during certain times of the week. This is absolutely ideal if you have a larger lawn, but if you have a smaller lawn then you may just use a hose pipe for this task. There are some companies out there that will be able to install an irrigation system for you and the good news is that it can all be up and running within a day and the results from it are almost instant.
Getting the essential lawn care equipment helps to make sure that your lawn looks great and it easily helps to maintain the look as well. Obviously this is what you want especially if you have spent a long time growing your lawn from scratch.

Are You Looking For Commercial Lawn Care Equipment?
Posted: Sep 28, 2007 |Comments: 0

Commercial lawn care equipment comes in many shapes and forms, with each piece having its own purpose and use.
Many people pride themselves in keeping their gardens up together and this includes the perfect care of their lawns. The good news is that you do not need to have a big lawn in order for it to look spectacular; it all really comes down to how you look after it.
By applying the proper care to your lawn, it really helps to maintain healthy looking results. In order to help you to achieve this, you could make full use out of commercial equipment.
Using the Right Equipment on Your Lawn
By using the right equipment it can really help to make the job in hand much more efficient and it is also easier to help to maintain your lawn and give it the proper care that is needed. There are quite a few different types of commercial lawn care equipment available that have different purposes in mind. For instance, there is certain equipment available that is specifically designed to help with small lawns and there is other equipment available that are only to be used during certain seasons of the year. Whatever your garden needs, there will always be some lawn care equipment available to you to fill those needs.
One of the most essential pieces of equipment to look after your lawn would be a lawnmower. However there are also other pieces of equipment that can come in extremely handy as well, such as hedge trimmers and leaf blowers.
For anyone who has a fair sized lawn, a lawnmower will help to keep your grass short and looking as good as possible. Also, combined with a trimmer, you can tidy up the edges of the lawn perfectly too. During certain seasons dead leaves can be a problem on your lawn; especially if there are a lot of trees nearby. However, you do not need to fret as a leaf blower can easily sort this problem out. If you suffer terribly from weeds, which a lot of people do, then a weed trimmer would be the perfect solution to this problem and it is a quick way to do it too.
The use of commercial equipment for lawn care makes the task in hand so much easier, meaning people of a reasonable age can look after their lawns without many problems. It can help to save a lot of time compared to doing things manually and it also helps to take better care of the lawn at the same time.
During the winter months it can be extremely hard to look after the lawn; however there is a massive range of commercial equipment that can help to keep your lawn looking as good as possible. Snow blowers are a useful piece of equipment during snowy periods of the year, as they easily get rid of snow and ice that is on the lawn.
So if you are worried about your lawn you really do not need to be because with the use of commercial lawn care equipment, you can easily manage your lawn and have it looking as healthy and as good as possible.

Tips For Organizing Your Lawn Care Equipment
Tuesday, September 7, 2010 5:52 No CommentsTips For Organizing Your Lawn Care Equipment
Is your garage or shed a jumble of rakes, hoses, and other lawn care equipment? Getting these tools organized is the first part of making your lawn care routine much easier. Instead of spending additional time looking for the right tool, you could be getting the chore of lawn care over with and enjoying yourself afterwards. Here are a few simple tips to help you find a place for your lawn and garden care equipment and keep it there.
1. Big things need organization, too. Many people think that there’s no need to organize their lawn care equipment, since most of it’s so big. After all, it’s pretty hard to lose a riding mower. However, when that mower is buried under a pile of rakes and other tools, unearthing it can be a bigger task than mowing the lawn.
2. Categorize your equipment by type and shape. Also, consider the season in which you use it. You don’t want to be tripping over the snow shovel when you’re trying to find the grass seed.
3. Hang hand tools on the wall. A few nails and a long board can create an effective rack on which to hang rakes, shovels, and other bulky tools that you want easy access to without their being in the way.
4. If you have garden hoses to store, always keep them neatly rolled and fastened. Large cable ties and bungee cords are great for this. An unrolled hose slithering all over the place can quickly make finding what you’re looking for a lot more difficult.
5. Keep extension cords under control. These can quickly tangle if you don’t roll or knot them in a way that keeps them tidy. Cable ties can help here, too, and you can hang them on hooks with your rakes and other tools.
6. Shelving gets things off the floor. However, you should be certain to designate particular uses for each shelf and shelving unit. Cluttered shelves are only a little better than a cluttered floor. Put fertilizer and grass seed on one shelf, fuel for your equipment on another.
7. Don’t forget the small stuff. Little objects, like hose nozzles, garbage bags, and small tools can easily get lost in the jumble of a shed. Keep them in their own containers. You can use multi-drawer cabinets for this, or plastic kitchen containers. Remember to label your drawers or containers, though, or you’ll be no better off than you were when you started.
8. Make a place for trash. Many garages and sheds don’t have a trash can readily available, so the clutter mounts up. Keep a large trash can on hand, as well as a stock of bags, so you can throw away anything that needs to go.
Organizing your garage and lawn care tools makes the job of keeping your lawn and garden beautiful a lot easier. When you can find the perfect tool for the job, you won’t spend as much frustrating time searching. Take the hassle out of caring for your lawn by making sure your tools and equipment are all well organized.

Gardening Top Equipment Tips
Friday, August 6, 2010 0:09 No CommentsGardening Top Equipment Tips
Nearly every gardener has some type of gardening equipment. In fact, its nearly impossible to have a garden without used gardening equipment. What kind of gardening equipment you use will obviously depend on the size and extent of your garden, what you are able to handle, if you want to spend a lot of time in your garden or get done quickly, and finally, how much money you are willing to spend.
While many gardeners do not have expensive or high-tech gardening tools, all of them have some type of gardening equipment for cultivating. Tools for cultivating can include both hand held tools and power tools. What kind you buy depends on how serious of a gardener you are. Hand tools include your everyday items like shovels, spading forks, rakes, trowels, and diggers. These can all be used to get a garden ready for planting and are relatively easy and do not require much strength to use. Other tools include a wheel cultivator, pickax, and mattock.
While power tools are a little more expensive than hand tools, they really cut down on the hard labor. The most essential piece of gardening equipment is undoubtedly the tiller. The tiller will break up the ground and get it ready for planting, chop up any debris, and help mix in fertilizer and compost. If you dont want to spend the money on a tiller you can hire someone or rent a tiller for one time use. Other power tools that are very popular include chippers, garden shredders, and chain-saws.
If you have shrubs, hedges, or small trees in your yard, pruning tools are a vital piece of gardening equipment. Pruning shears are good for branches about in diameter, while lopping shears can handle branches from a half inch up to about 2 inches. Pole pruners are on a pole and can reach branches about 15 feet above ground. Hedge shears and pruning saws are both larger, more heavy duty pruning tools for the serious gardener.
Since your plants must be watered in order to survive, and lets face it, it doesnt rain whenever we want it to, gardening equipment for watering is a must have. The one thing you cant get along without is a water hose, everything after that is optional. Many gardeners use sprinklers or s drip irrigation hose. There are even timers you can purchase for sprinklers or drip hoses, if you are willing to drop the extra cash.
Gardening without gardening equipment would be a nightmare. Sure there are some people who enjoy getting a little dirty while they plant their flowers, but even those types of people have the most basic of gardening tools, like a rake or a hoe. Gardening equipment is a part of gardening, as important as the dirt and the seeds.
One of the best things about gardening is felling warm, moist dirt in your bare hands, but you will often end up with blistered, chapped, and scraped skin. The solution to this problem is gardening gloves. The more time you spend getting down and dirty in the garden, the more you need gardening gloves. Gardening gloves will be able to ease some of the pain you would otherwise be subject to, letting you spend even more time playing in the dirt.
There are hundreds of different types of gloves on the market, and the kind of gardening glove you buy depends on the way you garden. Some gloves offer protection against specific substances or things, for example, leather gloves are not the best for working with chemicals or water. Many gardening gloves are specialized for pruning thorns, refilling gasoline tanks, or using a chain saw, while others are for general tasks such as raking, digging, and weeding.
After choosing the type of gardening glove you need, you must make sure and pick out the perfect fit. Gloves that are too big have a tendency to slip off while gloves that are too small could cause aches and cramps. Any glove that doesnt fit could defeat the whole purpose of wearing gloves and cause blistering. To find a glove with the best fit possible, try the gloves on both hands, make a fist, and imitate the movements you make when gardening. If there is no pinching or slipping and the glove is comfortable then you have found your match.
Gardening gloves can be bought in many places and are produced by many companies, causing them all to have a different quality and price. Most gloves can be washed in cool water and then air dried. There are many different types of gloves you can purchase to satisfy your varying needs, such as cotton and cotton-polyester for general-purpose chores. These are among the most popular gloves and are perfect for light chores in cool and dry weather. Leather gloves can also be used for general chores but are heavier than cotton and polyester. Chemical resistant gloves will help protect your hands against oils, acids, herbicides, pesticides, and many other chemicals. Grip enhancing gloves are designed with rubber dots for extra gripping power. Cut and puncture resistant gloves are designed to offer extra protection against sharp edges
If you are the type person that only wears gloves as an optional luxury for various tasks, you should think seriously for using specialized gardening gloves for many of the activities you will be doing outside. There is really no reason not to wear gardening gloves; they protect your hands from the elements and dont ever cost all that much.

The Tools & Equipment Necessary to Start a Lawn Care Business
Friday, July 30, 2010 18:38 No CommentsThe Tools & Equipment Necessary to Start a Lawn Care Business
The cost of obtaining the equipment and tools necessary to start a successful lawn care business is not necessarily high. In fact, it is entirely possible to start a successful lawn company with a fairly minimal investment in equipment. In this case, a lawn care business owner can start the business with only a basic mower and edger/trimmer and start building a clientele. Then the lawn business owner can gradually increase the equipment in inventory to match the increasing demand for his services.
Following this scenario, the lawn business owner can conservatively invest in his business without expending a huge upfront investment in equipment before obtaining the large clientele that will eventually pay off the cost of the expensive pieces of equipment. Of course, not all new lawn care business owners will want to start that small. Some business owners will want to start their business with a more substantial collection of equipment at their disposal.
In this case, there are a number of items that will prove useful for any lawn care business. It is obvious that a reliable motor vehicle will be necessary to transport the business owner, his employee(s) if any, and his equipment to and from job sites. A heavy-duty flatbed trailer is a common choice among lawn care professionals. In addition, some lawn care business owners have a utility trailer that is capable of hauling heavier and larger loads.
One absolute necessary piece of equipment for any lawn care business is the lawn mower. Although it is not necessary to have a professional, commercial-grade lawn mower right away, it is a good idea to budget for the upgrade to one as business volume picks up. These commercial-grade lawn mowers tend to be more reliable and more heavy-duty than the personal versions.
If the lawn care business offers fertilization services, as many of them do, then it will be crucial to invest in a spreader or sprayer to distribute the fertilizer over the lawn. Two more useful pieces of equipment include the trimmer and edger. A trimmer will clip the grass than cannot be easily accessed with a standard lawn mower, while an edger will clip the grass than extends over the edge of sidewalks or driveways. Additionally, a blower will send any stray grass clippings back onto the lawn and helps to produce a neat finished look to the property.
Although starting with a small collection of equipment is advisable, it is still a good idea to budget for upgrades along the way. As the list of clients grows, the quality and number of dependable pieces of equipment should also grow. In this way, the lawn care business can grow at a fast pace and become more profitable.

Durability Justifies Cost of Commercial Lawn Care Equipment
Friday, July 16, 2010 6:52 No CommentsDurability Justifies Cost of Commercial Lawn Care Equipment
Some people believe that the big difference between residential equipment and commercial lawn care equipment is the price. While that may be true, there is also the issue of quality and durability that makes the extra cost of the commercial lawn care equipment justified. Residential equipment is designed for the regular use by one individual using it a few hours a week, or even a month, but commercial equipment is going to be used several hours per day, earning money for the equipment owners and operators.
Stand-up mowers, zero-radius turn mowers and heavy duty trimmers are the most common types of commercial lawn care equipment seen in the large yards of apartment buildings, retailer and near industrial parks. Typically, a company will hire individuals to use this commercial lawn care equipment, and each one will drive a little different, but the result needs to be the same regardless of who is behind the wheel. Additionally, how the equipment is operated will help determine its life.
Safety devices built onto commercial lawn care equipment is there to protect the operator and cannot be removed. Homeowners can, on the other hand, put their health at risk by removing some of these devices, but allowing others to use their equipment can be hazardous if it is in an unsafe condition.
Companies Rely On Equipment For Job Security
Unlike residential users, people using commercial lawn care equipment are counting on the equipment to work as needed in order to keep any lawn care contracts they have established. If the equipment continually has problems and cannot be used, it will not take long before they start losing contracts, as well as their income. It would be unusual for a commercial company to buy used lawn care equipment, as it can sometimes be an issue of buying someone else’s trouble.
Residential users rarely buy commercial lawn care equipment unless they have a huge area of outdoor living space they are trying to maintain. Spending hours on a lawn is one thing, but spending time repairing less expensive residential equipment used on a much larger area, is another.
The added initial investment of buying commercial lawn care equipment can be considered an investment since the durability should reduce the cost of future repairs and maintenance. Regardless of the type of equipment used, there are certain maintenance procedures that must be used to extend the life of the commercial lawn care equipment beyond what the manufacturer’s warranty covers.

Buying Used Lawn Care Equipment Take Careful Consideration
Thursday, July 15, 2010 18:19 No CommentsBuying Used Lawn Care Equipment Take Careful Consideration
There really is nothing wrong with buying used lawn care equipment, provided it was well maintained and does not cost as much as buying the same thing new. Equipment that was taken care of by the original owner can be just as good as buying something new, provided the used lawn care equipment is not expected to last as long as a new item. While it may work just as good as a new one, it may not have the same life expectancy.
While the physical appearance of the used lawn care equipment should be considered, any and all safety devices designed to protect the operator should also be present and in good working condition. Many of these devices, mandated by law for safety, can be removed by the owner and if it is sold as used lawn care equipment if they are not present or functioning, could place the new owner at risk.
Some retailers that have had equipment returned will send them to a factory authorized repair facility for inspection and repair if needed. They then sell it as used lawn care equipment, even if it has never been used. For example, a person buys a lawn mower and has trouble getting it started. The retailer exchanges it for them, sends the other one out for repair and when it is fixed, sell it as used lawn care equipment at a significant discount. Often these items can be bought with the original factory warranty still in effect.
When To Consider Buying Used Equipment
In the middle of the grass cutting season if the lawn equipment breaks, the owner may not be in a financial condition to replace it. Often, they can get a deal on used lawn care equipment that has been traded in on a new one by someone else. Pieces of equipment that are not needed all year around should also be considered when looking at used lawn care equipment. Sometimes, buying used for periodic used can be cheaper than the cost of lawn care equipment rental.
Depending on the price of the used lawn care equipment, it may be wise to check maintenance records to help determine the potential life expectancy of the equipment. The more expensive the equipment, the more research should be conducted and the more proof of proper maintenance the seller should provide. If buying a used push mower for for example, you are going to pay the money and take your chances.
